Dr Rajeev Mehta

Dr. Rajeev Mehta is a Professor of Chemical Engineering, at Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala, India. He has brought rich research experience in the area of polymers from an earlier stint of about three years at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio, USA as a scientist, and a 1½ years stint at SRI, Delhi, India. Also, the research training received at Virginia Tech, USA during his Master’s thesis work also broadened his horizons. While abroad in the US, Dr. Mehta did very useful work with regard to the development of graphitic foams and almost defect-free thin films for non-linear optical properties determination, for the US Air Force.
His researches, publications, and achievements are too many to enlist here. He has been advising the AIChE TIET Student Chapter for a long time now. Due to his and team efforts, this chapter stands at an international level today.

Tarun Jain

Tarun Jain, Alumni Advisor of AIChE TIET Student Chapter is BE in Chemical Engineering from TIET 2018 batch. From the very beginning, he has been passionate about chemical engineering and the kind of impact it can have on society in the era of sustainable development. He has always believed in the theory of development through self-learning and teaching others. He was part of AIChE from the very beginning of its establishment at TIET and also an official AIChE member coordinated by the United States. He believes in global collaborations and culture sharing which always pushes one beyond his talent. His responsibility is to support Chemical Engineers of TIET and make them well aware of industrial culture and Chemical Engineering activities across the globe.

Currently, he is working as Assistant Manager in one of India’s leading chemical manufacturing with lean six sigma & process engineering expertise.
